Physical Therapists

Tracy Arone PT, ATC

Tracy A. Arone, MPT, ATC joined COSM Rehab in July 2006 and has been practicing as a certified athletic trainer since 2002 and as a physical therapist since 2004. Ms. Arone has extensive training in sports medicine. Ms. Arone is a 2002 graduate of Lock Haven University where she received a B.S. in Health Sciences with a concentration in pre-physical therapy and athletic training. She received a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Gannon University where she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer. She also worked with numerous high schools in the greater Erie, PA area.
Ms. Arone is a licensed physical therapist with the State Boards of Physical Therapy in Pennsylvania and Virginia and is a licensed athletic trainer for the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine and National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers Society and the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association (PPTA).
Amy S. Bencic, DPT, PT, OCS

Amy has been practicing Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth Of Pennsylvania over twenty six years. Ms. Bencic has had extensive training in Othopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy and is an Orthopaedic certified Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association. She has clinical experience in outpatient private practice, acute and out-patient hospital care, as well as home health physical therapy. Ms. Bencic graduated magna cum lade in 1983 from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Chatham College in 2004 with a specialty in Sports and Orthopeadics.
Ms. Bencic has been a clinical instructor for the University of Pittsburg, Penn State DuBois, and Gannon University. She has presented lectures for peers and community members on orthopedics, balance/vestibular rehabilitation, aquatic therapy, industrial rehabilitation, and manual therapy. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association (PPTA). She is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy and maintains a Direct Access License.
Julie Fairman, PT
Julie N. Fairman, PT, CWT joined COSM Rehab in February 2009 although has practiced Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 20 years. She has had extensive experience in the area of orthopaedics with special interest in arthritis and total joint rehabilitation.
Ms. Fairman graduated cum laude from the University of Scranton in 1989. She has continued with ongoing education in the areas of orthopaedics , manual therapy, industrial rehabilitation, women’s health, and vestibular rehabilitation.
Ms. Fairman has taken part in clinical instruction with students from Penn State Dubois. She is a certified instructor for the Arthritis Self-Help program in conjunction with the Arthritis Foundation. Ms. Fairman is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association (PPTA). She is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy and also maintains a “Direct Access” license.
JoAnn Farabaugh, PT

JoAnn is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania with Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy. She has over 35 years experience and has been the director of Rehabilitation Services of Indiana Regional Medical Center for 21 years. She is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy and maintains a Direct Access License. JoAnn as participates in numerous health fairs.
Thomas Horchar, MPT, ATC

Tom is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with Bachelors of Science in Physical Education and Sport, Associates Degree at Butler County Community College as a Physical Therapist Assistant, Masters Degree from St. Francis as a Physical Therapist. He has nine years experience as a Physical Therapist. Tom is a licensed physical therapist with the State Boards of Physical Therapy in Pennsylvania and a licensed athletic trainer.
Paul Pohley, MPT

Paul has been practicing Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for greater then fifteen years. He graduated summa cum laude at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and Sports Science. While at IUP, Mr. Pohley was a pitcher on the baseball team. In 1993 Mr. Pohley graduated from the University of Pittsburg with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
Mr. Pohley has been employed by Indiana Regional Medical Center since 1993 working in the Acute Care and Outpatient areas.
Mr. Pohley’s primary interests are in sports and orthopaedics.
He has coached youth hockey, basketball, and baseball for the last eight years. Mr. Pohley is a member of the American Physical Therapy association (APTA) and is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy.
Dennis A. Schultz, PT

Dennis A. Schultz, PT has been with the Center for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine (COSM) since 2005 but has been practicing Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for greater than 15 years. Mr. Schultz has extensive training in Orthopaedics and Sports Physical Therapy. He also has extensive training in Total Joint Rehabilitation. In 1990, Mr. Schultz graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Schultz is a clinical instructor for the University of Pittsburgh, Chatham College, Gannon University and Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He has given numerous lectures for the community and his peers in the field of Physical Therapy. Mr. Schultz is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association (PPTA). He is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy and also maintains a "Direct Access" license.

Physical Therapist Assistants

Sue Baird, PTA

Sue is a graduate of DuBois Penn State University with an Associate of Science Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. She has nine years experience as an assistant and holds her indirect supervision certification. She also is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Eric Cullen, PTA

Eric graduated from Mercyhurst North East with Associate of Science Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He has two and a half years experience as an assistant and holds an indirect supervision certification by the State Board of Physical Therapy. He also has certification in Jumpstretching and CPR.
Lacy Hoffman, PTA

Lacy graduated from Penn State DuBois with an Associate of Science Physical Therapist Assistant Degree. She has one year of experience as an assistant.
Lorraine Knapp, PTA

Lorraine graduated from Penn State DuBois in 1996 as a Physical Therapist Assistant. She has over 13 years of experience as an assistant. She is credentialed by the American Physical Therapy Association as a clinical instructor and is a clinical instructor for Penn State DuBois PTA students. She also is a committee board member for the Penn State DuBois Physical Therapist Assistant Program. She is also credentialed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy for indirect supervision as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Nichole Pavelchick, PTA

Nichole is a graduate of Mount Aloysius with an Associate of Science Degree Physical Therapist Assistant. She has one year of experience.

Mary Beth Rine, PTA

Mary Beth graduated from Central PA Business School with an Associate in Specialized Technology. She has five years experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant and holds an indirect unsupervised license with the State Board of Physical Therapy. She is also certified in Lymphodema therapy.
Tom Trunzo, PTA

Tom is a graduate from Mount Aloysious with an Associate of Science Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Tom holds his indirect supervision certification with the State Board of Physical Therapy and has 13 years of experience. He is also certified as a Pilates instructor and with Kinesiotaping.

Christopher Hudock, OTR/L

Christopher J. Hudock, OTR/L has been with COSM since June 2006 and has been practicing Occupational Therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for over 13 years. Chris has extensive training in Orthopaedics and Hand Therapy. Mr. Hudock graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1993. Chris is a guest lecturer for Saint Francis University. He has given numerous lectures for his peers in the field of Occupational Therapy. Mr. Hudock is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Occupational Therapy and the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Darlene M. Shephard, OTR/L, CLT

Darlene is a graduate of College Misercorida in which she graduated magna cum laude. She has been practicing in the field of Occupational Therapy for 22 years. She has certification in Lymphedema from the Academy of Lymphatic Studies and in Lymphedema Management. Darlene has been practicing in out-patient therapy for 15 years with clinical focus on hand/upper extremity rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, lymphedema and post mastectomy care and work related programming. She has also been a speaker for the American Cancer Society and recently completed the Breast Cancer Recovery Program Course. She is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Occupational Therapy and the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

Lynn M. Ferguson, COTA/L

Lynn M. Ferguson, COTA/L has been practicing Occupational Therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for over 27 years. She is a graduate of Mount Aloysius Junior College with an Occupational Therapist Assistant Degree. Sharon Lishka, COTA/L

Sharon Lishka, COTA/L has been practicing Occupational Therapy for over 15 years. She is a graduate of Mount Aloysius College with and Occupational Assistant Degree. Ms. Lishka is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Occupational Therapy and National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

Speech Therapists
"The study of disorders that affect a person's speech, language, cognition, voice, swallowing (dysphagia) and the rehabilitative or corrective treatment of physical and/or cognitive deficits/disorders resulting in difficulty with communication and/or swallowing. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) or Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) address people's speech production, vocal production, swallowing difficulties and language needs through speech therapy in a variety of different contexts including schools, hospitals, and through private practice."

Stephen Wunz, MS, PES

Stephen Wunz, MS, PES is director of Sports Enhancement at Indiana Total Therapy West. Steven has a Masters Degree in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelors degree in Physical Education from the University of Arizona, and is certified Athletic Performance Enhancement Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Steven has over 17 years experience as Physical Education Department Chair and Wellness Coordinator and over 20 years of competitive power lifting experience. Steven is also nationally ranked in five weight classes and is competitive Body Builder.

Athletic Trainers
"Practiced by Athletic Trainers who work under the direction of physicians to optimize athletic participation of athletes. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities."

Rocky Fatino, ATC

Rocky A. Fatino, ATC, ACI joined COSM in August 2007. He has been a certified athletic trainer since 2000 with experience in sports injury evaluations, treatment and prevention programs.
Mr. Fatino is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he received a BS in Physical Education and Sports Science. He has worked as an athletic trainer in collegiate and outpatient rehabilitation settings.
Mr. Fatino is a licensed athletic trainer with the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine and is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association. He is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers Society.
Trisha Gerus, ATC

Trisha is a 2007 graduate of IUP University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education and Sport and Athletic Training Track. She joined the workforce of COSM Rehabilitation, now Indiana Total Therapy, in 2008 and is currently the Athletic Trainer at Purchase Line High School. Trisha is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.

Robert T. Rupert, ATC, joined COSM in September 2007. He has been a certified athletic trainer since 2000 and is experienced in sports injury evaluations, treatment and prevention programs. Mr. Rupert is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he received a B.S. in Physical Education and Sports Science. He has worked as an athletic trainer in collegiate, high school and outpatient rehabilitation settings.
Mr. Rupert is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association.
